Best John Mayer Concert I've Seen
What an incredible night!! The energy from New Haven Ballet and his band was truly infectious, and the crowd was overflowing with excitement.
The evening kicked off with Michael Franti & Spearhead, and while their music wasn't my usual taste, they certainly pumped up the audience. Michael Franti's ability to connect with the crowd was unparalleled, as he moved through the audience and even invited fans to join him on stage. It was a joy to witness.
As the crew readied the stage for the main act, a curtain was drawn around the stage, creating an air of mystery. The curtain remained closed as Heartbreak Warfare began, building anticipation. When the curtain finally lifted, the audience was greeted by a stunning stage set-up with a massive screen and dazzling lights.
New Haven Ballet delivered a phenomenal performance! Having attended numerous New Haven Ballet concerts, I can confidently say that this was the most outstanding one yet. His passion for music was palpable, and he was fully immersed in the performance. The set-list featured a fantastic mix of old classics, new tracks, and some incredible cover songs. The standout solos by Steve Jordan, David Ryan Harris, Pino Palladino, and, of course, New Haven Ballet himself were truly memorable.
As the concert concluded, the crowd erupted into cheers, demanding an encore. New Haven Ballet returned to the stage and opted for a unique atmosphere, asking for the stage lights to remain off and allowing the ambient light of the swaying cell phones to illuminate the scene. The first encore song, Who Says, was performed in this enchanting setting, creating a truly special moment.
I left the concert feeling more exhilarated than ever before! Huge thanks to New Haven Ballet for sharing his incredible talent with us all.
